Capacity Development Officer at PACT

Pact works across multiple sectors and actors to combat corruption, promote democracy and improve health. Pact is recruiting a Capacity Development Officer for an upcoming USAID-funded conflict management and mitigation project y that will strengthen inter-faith, inter-ethnic, and other local conflict mitigation networks to support and promote peaceful coexistence, good governance and religious freedoms in targeted communities in six focus states of Northern Nigeria, including building the capacity of state and local governments to assist communities in mitigating violent conflict and preventing violent extremism in the six focus states.
Position Summary
The Capacity Development Officer is responsible for ensuring the day to day implementation of capacity development interventions take place under the design of the program and within the proposed timeframe. The Officers will work collaboratively to ensure that capacity development is holistic, meeting the needs of the stake holders. The Capacity Development Officer supports advocacy and networking related components for Pact and among partners.
Key Responsibilities
Capacity Development Role

Deliver all customized capacity development activities for the project in diverse areas of organizational development (i.e. program management, resource mobilization, monitoring and technical capacity development)
Work closely with selected local partners to ensure adequate capacity is built in identified areas of the program, training, mentoring, coaching and other methodologies.
Conduct technical and organizational capacity assessments, network analysis and organizational performance index with partners.
Develop materials and processes for specific areas identified as needed for capacity development of partners, including training, mentoring and coaching of partners, peer learning and other methodologies.
Ensure flexibility and high quality of the capacity development support provided to the partners.
Ensure integration of organization capacity development with other technical support the project will provide to the partners.
Support coordination with appropriate stakeholders in all aspects of activities; planning, monitoring and implementation.
Build local government and institutional capacity to effectively promote peace in their communities.

Program Implementation Role

Contribute to the development of annual workplans, performance monitoring systems and tools and writing of program reports.
Remain up-to-date with latest methodologies, best practices and donor requirements and ensure that the project capacity development results are consistent with the best practices of the sector.
Capture & document success stories and case studies.

Any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

BSc/ BA in Public Health, Development, Public Administration or another related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in capacity development of CSOs and/or government
Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Experience in facilitating and leading trainings as well as production of training and capacity assessment reports

Experience in working directly with CSOs, with a focus on provision of technical advice and/or capacity building.
Proven skills in developing organizational capacity of partners in implementing conflict mitigation programs.
Previous experience working with USAID funded programs
Experience developing innovative capacity and organizational development technical trainings.
Knowledge and Experience in conducting capacity development assessments.
