This is the submission stage; in this stage, all submissions made are going to be vetted by the WealthBankers Prodigy Hunt Team and the top 100 prodigy contestant submissions will be selected to enter Round 1 of the show. These selected individuals will then move on to the other rounds where they will face a similar process by the public and the WealthBankers Prodigy Hunt Team till the top winners emerge.

WB Prodigy Hunt - Submission Stage Details

GHANA EDITION ONGOING

There are 12 African Nations participating in the WealthBankers Prodigy Hunt; namely Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Rwanda, Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Namibia, Uganda.

Each of these countries will hold their own Country Level Hunt and the prodigy contestant will win prizes within their country. The top winners from the country level hunts ( that is, 12 in total) will meet in the Grand Finale and compete for the Grand Prizes.

Minimum Submissions per Country

We require that each of the 12 African countries participating in this hunt provide a minimum of 1000 Prodigy entries / submissions for their country level of the WealthBankers Prodigy Hunt Show. All these countries have at least 5 million citizens; if a country fails to meet the minimum entry requirement, they are automatically disqualified and removed from the lineup.

GHANA EDITION is currently ongoing.

The deadline for GHANA EDITION submissions is on the 14th June, 2018. The main requirement that needs to be met before proceeding to Round 1 is: at least 1000 submissions from each country. If this requirement is not met, the participating country is disqualified.

If countries meet the minimum prodigy submissions required to proceed, then all submissions will be reviewed down to the best 100 prodigy submissions. These hundred prodigy contestants are going to then to be put up for public voting through the rounds. The winners of the rounds will move on toward the Award Prize.

Categories for Submissions: You can place your submission entry under Arts, Science, Business or Others categories.

The Submission Stage

The submission stage is to officially collect the video and text submissions for the WB Prodigy Hunt to commence. Only one submission entry is allowed per person/team for the hunt. Also, the WealthBankers Prodigy Hunt Team has the liberty to rearrange applicants' work in the category it deems fit.

Timeline for Submission Deadline: The designated timeline for submissions will end on 14th June, 2018.

WB Prodigy Hunt - Submission Regulations

GHANA EDITION ONGOING

All prodigy contestants entering the WealthBankers Prodigy Hunt must meet the requirements stated below.

Nationality and Residence: Ghanaian living in Ghana

Age Group: You must be 30 years old or less (1 year – 30 years)

Can Teams Apply: Yes, you can apply as an individual or as a team of young people doing great things.

Who Should Submit: Someone who has talent, passion or great skill and is doing something worthy with it in spite of all challenges.

Media Exposure: No previous media exposure - submissions of work that have been previously aired offline or online for media exposure purposes will not be accepted. This means that the applicant should not have been previously featured in any public/traditional media (social media is okay).

We seek to discover fresh, new prodigies within each participating countries.

Submission: You will need to submit a 3 - 5 mins video (no longer) in which you tell us about yourself, what you do and why you think you are the prodigy we are looking for. Use a phone/camera to take a simple 3 - 5 mins video.

Cover Letter: Submit a 300 - 500 words article about you and why you are a prodigy. If you know someone, help them do it.

Proof of Identity: Legal document such as NHIS, Driver’s license, official Birth Certificate, International travel Passport

Portrait:  One passport size picture.

Requirement to Progress 

In order to pass and progress through the Rounds, the candidates must prove his/her ability. In most cases, candidates who are exceptional and are doing great things will most likely progress from round to round.

The main reason for this being that candidates in Round 1 & 2 will be voted for by the general public and these winners are the ones who will progress from the round. In other words, candidates who are able to appeal to the general public are the ones who are most likely to pass this round.

Elimination From the Round

Legal documents will be presented as evidence and verification of the criteria needed. If for some reason evidence surfaces that the applicant is over 30 years old, there will be instant disqualification. Prodigy contestants who do not follow the rules of the WB Prodigy Hunt show will be disqualified.

WB Prodigy Hunt - Submission Screening

GHANA EDITION ONGOING

This is the first stage of the prodigy hunt. Only a hundred (100) successful submissions will make it past the screening and into round one.

All videos and text submissions are going to be reviewed after the submission deadline. Each applicant is allowed to post only one submission. Applicants who post more than one submission will be disqualified.

All submissions will be put up against certain criteria which are:
  • Candidates must meet all minimum requirements
    • Candidates must be Ghanaian and also living in Ghana
    • Candidates must be aged 30 years or less.
    • Candidates should be impacting their community or society with their various skills and abilities
    • Candidates should not have had any previous media exposure
  • Submitted videos must be of good quality
    • Video should be watchable with contents that are clearly visible. Videos that are barely watchable would be rejected. HD quality videos are preferred but not required.
    • Videos must be follow the format below:
      • Introduction: Video must begin with a brief introduction of the candidate(s) and a general overview of what the candidate does or is doing. The intro should be brief, preferably a minute long.
      • Demonstration: The remainder of the video should be used to provide some form of demonstration about the nature, technique or mode of operation of their project or prodigy activities.
      • The whole video must not be more than 5 minutes long. Any longer and the submission will be rejected.
The prodigy hunt team will use the above criteria to screen all submissions. The submissions that remain will be screened down further by the Prodigy Hunt team along with 3 other judges, to the final list of 100 candidates.
